Vabu
Vabu runs ticketing, fan communities and paid streaming for events and creators in Kenya. It started inside Payd and is now its own product and platform, which B3N helps build.

Vabu began inside Payd, as a way for Payd customers to buy event tickets. Organisers quickly wanted far more than a payment button: check-in at the door, promoters who sell on commission, refunds, settlement after the event, and a way to stay in touch with fans once the night was over.
That is a different business from cross-border payments, with different customers. It needed its own product, brand and platform, and B3N took on building them.
What we built
The live product. Ticket sales and door check-in, tools for organisers and administrators, fanbases (communities around an artist, venue or brand), Vabu+ for paid video and live streams, promoter sales, pay-later bookings, coupons, refunds and settlements.
A white-label edition. A creator brand runs its own version of Vabu, with its own name, domain and look, on the same code. When it needed to move faster than a shared codebase allowed, we gave it its own repository and release process.
VabuOS. The next version turns Vabu into a platform other businesses can build on. It has one account system with sign-in through Payd, tenants with their own brands, and events, streams, shop, loyalty and affiliate sales under each organisation, all available through a versioned API with public documentation. VabuOS is in build now.
How the build is run
VabuOS is split into written work lanes, from tenancy and security to the ledger and notifications. Each lane has a specification, an owner and a check that proves it is done. AI agents work the lanes in parallel, with a cap on how many run at once and a review before any change merges.
What it taught us
- Two-sided products need two onboarding journeys. Organisers and fans want different things from the same event page.
- A white-label edition is a product decision before it is a technical one: what each brand may change, and what must stay the same everywhere.
- Spinning a business out of a parent company is easier when the payments relationship stays in place. Vabu still settles through Payd.
